Travellers are being warned to check with their airlines in the aftermath of a weekend ice storm that swept across Toronto.
The storm has also affected New York state and New England, and could bring complications for driving in the region.
LF Wade International Airport manager Aaron Adderley said the storm had forced the cancellation of WestJet’s Toronto service on Sunday, rescheduled for yesterday.
“Flights have been operating as per normal — but anyone travelling should always check with their airline,” he said.
Severe power outages in the Toronto area could persist for days, after a thick glaze of ice brought down utility lines and trees.
A cold snap will keep temperatures in the area as low as 5F for the next few days.
