Minister’s son charged with cannabis possession

The 19-year-old son of Health Minister Trevor Moniz has been charged with possessing cannabis and drug paraphernalia in Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Thomas Moniz, of Pigeon Berry Lane, Smith’s, denied having 2.1 grams of cannabis and a blue ‘grinder’ in his possession on September 2 in Devonshire parish.
Mr Moniz elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and is set to appear again later this week.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released him on $2,000 bail with one surety in the meantime.
