Charities benefit from 200 hours of volunteer work from Bermuda College students and staff

Bermuda College students and staff have taken a break from their books to get into the community spirit.

Around 70 members of the college donated their time helping out charities and Island organisations during Community Service Week last week.

The volunteers gave 200 hours of their time to 13 groups, including Lefroy House, Meals on Wheels, the Sunshine League and the Salvation Army.

Tasks included sorting clothes to sorting files, cooking food and washing pots, cleaning utility closets, kitchen cupboards and windows, and also beautifying parts of the College campus over the five-day period.
