Meals On Wheels has received a donation from the Argus Group that will provide the charity with “additional support” in its efforts to provide meals for those who cannot or do not prepare their own.

The registered charity delivers meals to 200 residents throughout the Island four days every week, including newly released hospital patients struggling to prepare their own meals.

With 40 percent of clients receiving their meals free of charge, Meals On Wheels client manager Tannika Rodrigues said such donations are especially appreciated “during these difficult economic times.

“We would like to thank the Argus Group for their donation towards our programme.

“Meals On Wheels is an important part of the community and the demand for meals is increasing.

“We appreciate all the assistance that is given, as it helps us to continue to support those in need.”

Argus CEO Alison Hill said: “Meals On Wheels plays an important role in Bermuda by providing food for those in the community who are unable to cook for themselves.

“At Argus, we are passionate about giving back to our community and helping charities like Meals On Wheels as they continue to provide healthy and nourishing meals to those most in need.”
