Rider, 45, injured in Middle Road collision

A Southampton man was in hospital yesterday after being involved in a traffic collision on Middle Road.

A police spokesman said that at around 2.45pm on Wednesday there was a report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of Alton Hill in Southampton.

“It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road and a car was exiting Alton Hill when the vehicles collided. The injured motorcyclist, a 45-year-old Southampton man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was recovering in stable condition on a general ward,” said the spokesman.

The collision caused damage to the front of both vehicles.
