Hamilton Princess appoints new general manager

Fairmont Hamilton Princess new General Manager Allan Federer.

Veteran hotelier Allan Federer has been appointed general manager of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel.

Canadian Mr Federer was previously head of the Ritz-Carlton resort in Moscow and has worked for that group at a number of hotels around the world, including the US, Dubai, Ireland, Singapore, and Turkey.

He began his career in 1976 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Mr Federer said he was “delighted” to be moving to Bermuda to oversee operations at the iconic hotel.

“In recent months, the hotel has undergone a flurry of activity, with the development of the new 1609 Bar and Restaurant as well as the Samuelsson at HP pop-up restaurant and marina,” he said.

Fairmont Bermuda managing director George Terpilowski said: “We are delighted to have Allan lead the Hamilton Princess team here in Bermuda.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry, which will make him a great leader for the talented team at the hotel. His commitment to guest services and excellence will help to ensure that the property will continue to flourish as it continues to undergo a $90 million renovation and repositioning.”
