X Factor puts the global spotlight on Bermuda

Homage: Former X Factor UK judge and singer Tulisa Contostavlos soaks up the sea and sun at Fairmont Southampton’s beach while filming for the hit TV show.

Driving rain and grey skies may have put a dampener on the X Factor UK film crews yesterday morning.

But it did not stop the hit TV show’s presence in Bermuda making headlines across the world.

Photographs of former X Factor UK judge and N-Dubz singer, Tulisa, emerging from the sea in a bikini made newspapers and websites across the world.

She also posted a picture of herself in the sea on her Twitter account, which has 3.5 million followers, saying: “It’s a Bermudiful day”.

While images of X Factor UK judge, Louis Walsh, arriving in Bermuda appeared in the Daily Mail newspaper.

Although the arrival of the X Factor UK crew and its contestants attracted plenty of global attention yesterday the weather prevented them from sticking to their planned schedule.

The group was supposed to take to Horseshoe Bay in the morning where the ‘Baby Beach’ had been cordoned off for the crew’s use.

But rain and poor light meant that filming did not take place, and they had to head down to Horseshoe later in the day.

Mr Walsh and his team of young musical hopefuls spent most of yesterday around the Fairmont Southampton Resort, where they are staying, filming footage for the UK TV show.
