Trio treated after flight makes emergency landing

Three people were treated at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre after the incoming Air Canada flight was forced to make an emergency landing after fumes filled the plane.

The Saturday flight — with 88 on board — landed safely after passengers and crew suffered sore throats, headaches and irritated eyes.

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service were alerted around 11.30pm and a total of nine vehicles and 15 firefighters were standing by as the Airbus 319 aircraft came in to land.

Fire service Sergeant Russann Francis said that firefighters carried out a thorough search of the plane and the three people requiring medical attention were taken by ambulance to the Lamb Foggo clinic in St David’s for treatment.
