Six people have been arrested after an early morning raid by police in the Deepdale area of Pembroke, in which unspecified drugs were seized.

Today’s swoop employed upwards of 30 officers, signalling a new tactic by police as members of the Community Action Team called on nearby homes to inform residents while the raid took place.

Previously, police had informed neighbours of their business in the area once the operations were complete — but tactics have changed in order to ensure that everybody learns at the same time, according to Acting Assistant Commissioner James Howard.

Mr Howard said police had conducted “multiple search warrants” in the area early this morning. Four men were arrested, plus a juvenile male and one woman.

“We expect that several will appear before the courts,” Mr Howard added.

Urging members of the public to report suspicious activity to police, Mr Howard hailed the operation as “a result of people seeing and saying”.

He apologised to area residents inconvenienced by the raid.
