A 14-year-old girl was taken to hospital on Sunday after being hurt in a car crash.

The teenager was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with another car on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Khyber Pass, at 6pm.

The cars were travelling in opposite directions when the accident happened.

The girl, from Warwick, was taken to hospital by ambulance but later discharged.

One of the drivers, a 31-year-old Warwick woman, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Police said the front of both cars were extensively damaged.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving at the weekend as part of the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP).

Officers also arrested 15 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor-licence checks at various premises across the Island.
