A motorcyclist is in hospital after his vehicle was in collision with a truck on Crow Lane this afternoon.

The incident took place at about 1.45pm at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill.

According to a police spokesman, the injured male motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment but the extent of his injuries is not yet known at this time.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene.

Inquiries into the crash are ongoing and witnesses are asked to contact Pc Courtney Downie or Pc Avasonjia Hewitt at the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.
