Insurers were kept busy yesterday as policy holders’ claims for storm damage signalled an early start to the working week.

Andrew Hanwell, vice president of personal insurance at BF&M, said the company opened yesterday from 10.30am, and will be ready today from 8am.

“The most important thing is to make sure your property is secure,” he said.

“You can find useful tips on www.sharkoil.bm. Taking pictures of the damages can be helpful to our claims team as well.”

Mr Hanwell added: “If you have an urgent issue, as always, you can call our 24/7 Claims helpline on 298-0247. You can also find claims forms on our website www.bfm.bm.”

Naz Farrow of Colonial Group said key staff were fielding claims from yesterday morning, adding that the company’s offices would open at 8.30am today. Colonial can be reached at 296-3700.

Argus Group’s main office can be reached at 295-2021, while its customer care number is 298-0888.
