Seven charities aided by Catlin

Christmas has come early for a group of good causes.

Catlin Bermuda has been spreading plenty of festive cheer by presenting seven local charities with a $6,000 donation in the run-up to December 25.

The underwriters announced that the organisations — Bermuda Islands Association of the Deaf, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bermuda Sloop Foundation, Greenrock, Open Airways, SCARS (Saving Children and Revealing Secrets), and Bermuda Overseas Mission — would all receive the significant financial boost during a charities reception last night.

The funding will go towards helping them carry out their work in the community.

“For several years now we have held this informal event for a small number of local charities and our staff,” said Graham Pewter, chief executive of Catlin Bermuda.

“At a time of giving, this serves as a reminder to all of us how important it is to support non-profit organisations that do so much to support our community.”
