Rate changes to several venue rentals have been announced by the City of Hamilton.

A new rental fee of $200 per hour was introduced for City Hall front lawn and rates have increased for the Earl Cameron Theatre. Nellie’s Walk has a new rental fee of $50 per hour, but there is no rental fee for registered charities.

No changes were made to the rental fees for City Hall steps, City Hall box office, City Hall foyer, Pier Six Cruise Terminal, City parks, City streets and City car parks.

A spokesman for the City of Hamilton said: “The City of Hamilton annually reviews its rates and makes any necessary adjustments reflective of associated cost for the provided venue with the City Council approving the rates by ordinance.”

He added that rental applications submitted after December 29 will reflect the new rates. Any applications that were submitted and approved before this date will not be affected by the changes.
