Motorcyclist in ‘critical’ condition after crash
A 22-year-old Warwick man is in “critical” condition after a collision between two motorbikes.
The accident in the Coral Beach area of Paget brought early rush-hour Bermuda traffic to another standstill.
At about 5.45am yesterday, Police and first responders attended the report of a collision on South Road, near the junction with Tribe Road 4B.
It appears that two motorcycles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.
Both riders, the Warwick man and a 69-year-old Devonshire man, were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
At last check the Warwick man was listed in critical condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Meanwhile, the Devonshire man was apparently in stable condition with an arm injury.
Inquiries are continuing and Police are appealing for persons who may have witnessed this collision to contact Constable Stephen Clyke at the main police telephone number at 295-0011.
•The Bermuda Police Service has thanked the public for assisting in its witness appeals to recent fatal and serious collisions.
Police are particularly grateful for the last appeal for a “critical witness” in the most recent road traffic fatality collision resulting in the death of Jereme Cumbermack as that witness has now come forward.
A police spokesman said: “We would like to commend everyone who has come forward to date, as the information they provide can prove invaluable in investigating these incidents.”
Any further witnesses should call 295-0011.
