A group of students who took part in the 39th annual UNIS-UN Conference were congratulated this afternoon by Premier Michael Dunkley.

A total of 29 students from CedarBridge Academy, Saltus, the Berkeley Institute, the Bermuda Institute, Warwick Academy and Bermuda High School took part in the conference held earlier this month at the United Nations in New York.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Sustainability: Balancing People, Planet, and Profit”. As part of the event, the students were tasked with gathering information so that they can understand how the topic relates to Bermuda. Then, at a follow-up conference, they will devise solutions to be implemented in our community

During a presentation this afternoon at the Cabinet office, the young people were awarded certificates of diplomacy by Mr Dunkley and Education Minister Wayne Scott, who thanked the students for their efforts.
