Enjoy Movies in the Park this weekend

The Department of Parks’ annual Movies in the Park event will take place at the Botanical Gardens this Labour Day weekend.

The Moonlight Movies Series will be hosting the action from 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, and is promising DJ music, fun competitions, free giveaways, food vendors, popcorn and cool drinks along with slides, rides and glitter tattoos in Play Land.

Showtime each night will be at 8.30pm and 10.30pm. On Saturday, the opening feature is Descendants, followed by The Duff; on Sunday, McFarland USA will be followed by Insurgent.

Admission is free and all are welcome. The Moonlight Movie Series is produced by Startime.

Public Works minister Craig Cannonier said in a statement: “As summer draws to a close, this is a great opportunity to give the kids something to remember, to the mark the end of the season.

“Bring chairs, towels or blankets and relax with family and friends on the natural amphitheatre in Camden Lawn.

“As one of Bermuda’s signature parks, the Botanical Gardens makes the perfect venue for families to enjoy some quality entertainment under the stars.”

Entrance to the Gardens will be through the South Road and Berry Hill Road entrances. Once on the grounds, Parks Department officials will give parking directions.

Director of Parks Lisa Johnston said: “The events on Labour Day Weekend at Botanical Gardens have become a special feature for supporters of the Moonlight Movie Series, and we are so pleased to work with Startime to bring our community together in this way.”
