CedarBridge to celebrate peace day

CedarBridge Academy is to host its fifth annual International Peace Day Assembly focusing on this year's global theme of Partnerships for Peace and Dignity for All.

The special assembly due to take place next Monday in the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium from 11am to 11.45am will include members of staff as well as S4 and S3 students.

Coordinator for the assembly Melanie Burrows, said the event aims to celebrate a global initiative of peace.

She said: “There will be prayers of peace for the world and our school, a musical selection, a Video clip ‘Journey to Freedom', followed by Shawnette Somner, education office for the Department of Corrections as the guest speaker presentation, culminating with the raising of the Peace Flag.”
