BTA: Tell the world we’re open this winter

The Bermuda Tourism Authority is launching a new social media campaign to spread the word that Bermuda is open for business this winter.

BTA director of public and stakeholder relations Glenn Jones said that over the next few weeks, video messages will circulate online sharing the theme with the hashtag #BDA365.

“Many tourism businesses close their doors and shutter the windows when the clock falls back,” Mr Jones said. “We want to reverse that trend so we’re highlighting and celebrating those who stay open year-round. Maybe these messages and the great weather we’re having right now will inspire others to open their doors as well.”

Among those taking part in the campaign are farmer Tom Wadson, town crier Ed Christopher, Heather Nicholds of Blue Sky Flights and Kamilah Cannonier of Sweet Saak Bakery in St George’s.

Mr Jones added that tourism industry stakeholders are invited to join in on the promotion by opening their doors and sharing the message using the hashtag.

The announcement of the campaign comes a day after the BTA unveiled the new “Uncover the Arts” brochure, which is also aimed at promoting off-season activities.
