Man, 34, injured in accident

A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital on Thursday after he sustained leg injuries in an accident.

The incident came after police attended a separate collision on South Road, Paget, earlier in the evening.

According to a police spokeswoman, at about 10.30pm an auxiliary cycle collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish, near the junction with Sleepy Hollow Drive.

While the female driver of the car did not appear injured, she said the male rider was taken to hospital to be treated for leg injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

A separate incident at about 6pm saw first responders attend a collision on South Road, near the junction with College Road.

“Details are limited at this time. However, it appears that two motorcycles were involved, with the injuries sustained not believed to be life threatening,” the spokeswoman said.

“Inquiries continue and witnesses should contact the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.”
