Clean living: Aston Volkan, 8, Gilbert Institute student lends a helping hand at Saturday’s carwash
The Church Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade held their fundraising Valentine’s Fair and Carwash on Saturday.
The event at St Paul’s Church in Paget saw a great turnout and tremendous support, according to Sheila Semos.
“It was fabulous,” Mrs Semos, who helped organise the event, said: “We had a really good response from the children and the parents. It was a wonderful day of fun and teamwork and making friends.
“There was great support from our church family, the parents, grandparents and friends. Even former members of the brigade came and helped out with the carwash in particular.”
Home-made baked goods were also on offer, along with plants, books, DVDs, “nearly new” goods and a white-elephant sale.
The home-made lunch proved to be an especially big hit, selling out before the event ended.
Mrs Semos added that all proceeds raised on the day help fund the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade programmes.
