Electricity outages this morning were triggered by a fault in Belco’s power station that caused two engines to shut down, a spokeswoman said.

The fault set off a load shed that affected customers from Prospect eastward, hitting 15 circuits. It took 20 minutes to get the load back online.

As of 1.30pm, Belco crews were still at work on the National Stadium substation to restore power.
