Error on Belco’s bills

An error in Belco’s billing system has resulted in incorrect bills sent out by the utility company from June 1 through June 3.

Customers were advised to disregard the bills, which are being corrected “as a matter of urgency”, a spokeswoman for Ascendant Group said.

The mistake came from system changes to incorporate new billing rates, as announced last month. Correct bills would be sent out “as soon as possible”, she said, adding: “It should be noted that the payment discount date is based on the billing date so when the incorrect bills are corrected and rebilled, a new discount date will be assigned.

“Should customers have any questions or concerns, they should contact Belco’s Customer Care Department on 299-2800.”
