Mid-Term BizCamp open for new recruits

Last year's BizCamp prizegiving.

Young entrepreneurs are being invited to showcase their business savvy next month at a free five-day training programme.

The Mid-Term BizCamp will run from October 24 to 28, helping students aged 13 to 17 to launch their own business and cultivate their capabilities.

During the programme, teenagers will generate business ideas gleaned from their interests, use basic finances such as costs and revenue, learn how to market and sell products and services, connect with Bermudian entrepreneurs and write a business plan.

The business plans will then be presented to a panel of judges, who will hand out awards for their favourites.

Jamillah Lodge, a BizCamp judge from the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, said: “This is an awesome opportunity to see what the future of Bermudian entrepreneurship looks like.

“I look forward to meeting each of the participants and hearing them talk about their entrepreneurial passion.”

The Mid-Term BizCamp is held in collaboration between the Bermuda Government’s Department of E-Commerce and the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative.

Applications are available at www.bedc.bm, with the first suitable 24 candidates admitted.
