Free Canadian tax advice on December 1

Canadians in Bermuda have been offered a free seminar to get help with tax and pension planning.

The information session on December 1 will cover topics such as Canadian residency for tax purposes, retirement planning for expatriates and Bermudians retiring in Canada, pension portability, ownership of property in Canada and the tax implications for Canadian non-residents.

Questions about other expatriate tax issues will be answered.

The seminar will feature chartered accountant Arun “Ernie” Nagratha, of Trowbridge Professional Corporation, a Canadian accounting firm that specialises in tax services.

Also present will be Carla Seely, vice-president of pension and investments at Freisenbruch-Meyer. Two sessions will be held at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club: one from noon to 2pm, and another from 6-8pm. To register, e-mail events@trowbridge.ca.
