Police: Several cars broken into

Police are investigating several incidents in which cars were damaged and searched, with contents stolen.

According to a police spokesman, three incidents of wilful damage to cars have been reported in the last two days, taking place on Harbour Road in both Warwick and Paget and Cavendish Close in Devonshire.

“In all three incidents an unknown culprit broke into the vehicles and searched the interior,” the spokesman said.

“An iPod was reported stolen from the car parked in Devonshire, while a quantity of loose change was reported stolen from a car parked at Darrell’s Wharf in Warwick. It was unclear if anything was stolen from the car affected in Paget.”

Police are warning the public to not leave items of value in their cars if possible or, if not, to leave them out of sight.

Any witnesses to these incidents or people with relevant information are asked to call the main police telephone number, 295-0011.
