Visitor in stable condition after collision

A visitor injured in a traffic collision over the weekend is in stable condition, according to police.

A police spokesman said the 61-year-old American woman was injured at around 12.30pm on Sunday when the rental cycle she was riding collided with a car on South Road, near the junction with Southcote Road in Paget.

She was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she today remains in the Intensive Care Unit.

Meanwhile, police said that a 15-year-old American male, who was the pillion passenger on the vehicle, was treated for a foot injury at the hospital and released.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses or persons that were travelling in the South Road, Southcote Road Paget area just prior to 12.30pm on Sunday should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011,” the spokesman added.
