A female motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a crash on Middle Road, Southampton, this afternoon.

The accident happened near the junction with Lighthouse Road at about 2.45pm.

Police said the woman, belived to be 19 years old, sustained injuries to her leg which were not life threatening and was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Traffic was being diverted but the roads have been re-opened.
