More than 1,500 books were delivered to preschools and nursery schools today as part of World Book Day 2017.

Nikita Robinson, of The Ladies Room on Hott 1075, praised those who volunteered to assist this year by reading to students, saying: “It’s one of my favourite days of the year and a great way that I get to celebrate my birthday, which actually falls on the day after World Book Day this year, by giving the gift of reading.”

Ms Robinson said: “It was certainly a success. The kids are always excited when they get books and especially someone to read.”
