A chance for women to share and connect

Women of all backgrounds and political persuasion are invited to join the conversation as the Progressive Labour Party hosts its first Women’s Caucus forum today.

The group, which will meet at Bermuda Industrial Union Headquarters at 11am, aims to “address issues, propose solutions and effect change”, according to organisers.

PLP public relations officer Liana Hall said: “The intention is to engage women across our society, to discover their biggest concerns for Bermuda and what they think all of us should be focusing on.

“We have a unique format for the discussion, where it will be guided, but not led, by the panel. It’s an opportunity for women to share and connect with one another in a safe space.

“We hope for a considerable turnout from a range of backgrounds.

“We have invited women to bring their children to facilitate their attendance without being concerned about childcare.”

Female parliamentarians will be in attendance at the event, joined by members of the PLP executive.

“Our Women’s Caucus is grounded in the grass roots,” states a flyer about the event.

“Our goal is the inclusion of all women no matter their education level, race, or political status.

“This is an initiative to engage all women across the island.”

The forum runs from 11am to 1.30pm.
