Winners have been declared for the Bermuda Triple Challenge, the island’s home-grown endurance contest — but the island’s charities came out top.

The obstacle course race, held last weekend, drew an impressive 65 international athletes out of an overall 1.137 entries, which, co-founder Reid Robinson said, brought in roughly $26,000 for six local charities.

Martin Jones came top in the non-corporate division, while the top female team was Awesomesauce: Claire De Ste Croix, Karen Adams, Kim Kreider and Laurie Orchard, and honours in the mixed division went to team Beauties and the BEASTS: Lisa Pickering, Nathan Samuels, Derek Lindo and Sarah Morgan.

The top junior team was 3 Byes and a Brit: Jude Moseley, Yannick Hillier, Max De Ste Croix and Zebedee Wakely, while the KPMG Canucks came top in the corporate division: Jeremy Estey, Derrick Holmes, Dustin Luck and Josh Bush.

Individual participants also raced for the fastest aggregated weekend time, and the top three secured an Obstacle Course Racing World Championship qualification spot.

Michael Day of Merrimack, New Hampshire took line honours, followed by Bermudian Coyatito Smith and Bryce Wilk of Chesterfield, Virginia.

The female division was topped by Katie Purcell of Fairfield, Connecticut, Danielle Burtch and Molly Bond.
