Canadian named as snorkel death victim

Police today identified the 62-year-old man who drowned yesterday morning as a Canadian national.

Thomas Kyser was taking part in what police described as a “snorkelling excursion” near North Rock when he lost consciousness while in the water at around 10am.

Mr Kyser was rushed ashore and transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
