Woman among new firefighting recruits

For the first time in two decades a female is among those taking part in the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service recruit course.

Dy-Ann Simmons is joined by 12 other participants in this year's programme.

They are: Jacinto Brown, Isaiah Caisey, Dillon Charles, Thomas Hart, Devon Lambert, Jordan Lamb, Dominique Nanette, Anthrun O'Brien, Dean Smith, Trevor Smith, Zahry Swan and Shaheed Umrani.

Wayne Caines, Minister of National Security, recently met with the recruits and stressed the importance of leadership and the role they would have as firefighters.
