Bermuda start-up business owners and would-be entrepreneurs interested in taking part in the next phase of a Government scheme can apply in September.

Jamahl Simmons, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, announced today that applications for the next Enterprise Bermuda Incubator Programme can be from September 1.

The pilot programme, launched in February, is run by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

The next phase of the programme will start in January next year.

Mr Simmons said the programme “is focused on walking participants through an in-depth, nine-month development process, which ensures the entrepreneurs get beyond the idea stage and start to bring their businesses to fruition”.

He added that the programme “aligns with the Government’s commitment to support local entrepreneurship and provide small business owners with greater access to opportunities.”

Six Bermudians took part in the first phase of the programme.

Application forms will be made available online and for pick up at the BEDC office on Church Street from September 1 to November 1.
