The Department of Parks has issued a reminder of camping guidelines for public parks and beaches over the Cup Match holiday.

According to a spokeswoman, campers will be allowed to camp from July 31 to Sunday, August 5.

She added: “Following any beaching or camping activity, all equipment and property must be removed by Monday, August 6. Any personal items left after that date will be disposed of.

“Patrons will be given the opportunity to set up their camping sites on the parks and beaches until 9.30pm on Wednesday August 1, after which time, the park gates will be closed.

“Park rangers will be patrolling all the parks and beaches and the lifeguard service will be on duty from 10am to 6pm daily at Horseshoe Bay, Clearwater Beach and Turtle Bay.

“Traffic control will be in place at Horseshoe Bay, Elbow Beach Tribe Road, and Clearwater Beach and Turtle Bay.”

The reminder also contained guidelines for Horseshoe Bay, where there will be traffic flow and parking guidance.

The spokeswoman added that Department of Parks staff, the Bermuda Police Service, the St John Ambulance Brigade and traffic officers from the Transport Control Department will be on duty.

She said: “On August 2, patrons are advised that Horseshoe Bay will close at 7pm so that Parks staff can clean the beach in preparation for the next day.

“The Department of Parks would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation and takes this opportunity to wish all park and beach patrons a safe and enjoyable Cup Match holiday.”
