Send your Christmas mail early

Those who wish to send Christmas letter and packages have been warned to be ready early.

The Bermuda Post Office has released its holiday mailing deadlines, urging customers to plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

A spokeswoman said: “For those concerned about the early deadlines, the BPO notes that these timelines are set based on the requirements for international airline transit, receipt processing and delivery for the postal sectors in the respective overseas jurisdictions.

“So the BPO again notes that the public should consider prepping to send their Christmas mail early to avoid the Christmas rush and to avoid disappointment.”

The recommended deadline for letters to the Caribbean, Europe and Asia is today.

Parcels for the Caribbean, Europe and Asia, along with letters to the US, Canada and the UK should be sent by next Friday.

Parcels for the US, Canada and UK should be mailed by November 23, along with expedited mail for the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

Meanwhile, expedited mail for the US, Canada and the UK should be mailed by December 3.

Those who wish to send mail locally have more time — those who want to make sure their mail is delivered by December 21 should post it before December 14.
