The Bermuda Society of the Arts gallery will be transformed to a runway tomorrow for the Bermuda Fashion Collective show.

The event will highlight a range of local fashion designers, including Desiree Riley, Juliana Gibbons, Dana Cooper, James Lee, Dean Williams, Rochelle Minors and Taijhuan Hollis.

Charles Anderson, president of the BSoA, said: “Fashion is a form of art, and we wanted to create an opportunity to support local artists.

“The show has been a sell-out in past years. The designers love it, and the people who I have talked to have enjoyed it as well.”

A spokesman said Ms Riley’s collection, Virago bespoke, intends to blend feminine and masculine ideas to create “strong, edgy garments”.

Ms Riley said: “This collection is for daring women who are not afraid to stand out and be trendsetters.”

Ms Gibbons said she is also looking to innovate with her collection.

She said: “Embracing chaos and imperfection have been running themes throughout my work.

“This collection is a representation of my life at the moment, and the clothes a uniform for facing the challenges that present themselves and the emotions that come along with them.”

The Bermuda Fashion Collective show will begin at 6pm tomorrow, with doors opening at 5.30pm.

General admission tickets cost $40, while front-row seats cost $65.

Tickets are available from bdatix.bm and the Bermuda Society of Arts at City Hall
