A Warwick woman has denied causing death by careless driving in a car accident in St George’s that claimed the life of Rakai Augustus.
Kelly-Ann Damasio, 30, had been previously accused of causing death by dangerous driving, at a Magistrates’ Court appearance in September 2018.
Mr Augustus, 30, was a passenger in Ms Damasio’s car in October 2017 when it crashed on Wellington Street in St George. He died later in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Crown counsel Nicole Smith downgraded the charge during the Supreme Court arraignments session yesterday.
Ms Damasio pleaded not guilty before Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves, with a mention date set for later this month.
