Newest edition of PechaKucha opens
End-of-life choices, chronic mental illness and political activism will be among the subjects for PechaKucha presentations this week.
Stratton Hatfield, a spokesman for the Japanese lecture format PechaKucha, said: “Every edition is different, but guarantees short, dynamic and moving presentations.”
The speakers will use the PechaKucha 20x20 format where 20 slides are featured and each slide appears for 20 seconds.
The format was designed to help presenters keep their talks short.
Dany Pen will speak about how she became a social, political and human rights activist.
Bill Rosser and Nina London will demonstrate Asian technology that uses light waves to stimulate the brain and reduce the effects of conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Danice Mapp will talk about a 40-day programme that could help people to change their lives.
Tania Stafford will discuss living with a chronic mental health problem and Alex Potts will talk about oysters.
Jasen Moniz will tackle how to deal with conversations about death and Sophia Cannonier will discuss her work in the aerial arts.
Each presentation will followed by a three-minute question and answer session.
The event will be held tomorrow at Warwick Workmen’s Club, on Cobbs Hill, Warwick, from 6pm.
Presentations will start at 6.30pm.
