Two dogs that attacked pets in Hamilton Parish three days ago remained undetected by animal wardens last night.

The pitbulls attacked and killed other dogs and cats in the Trinity Church Road and Abbot’s Cliff area on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Home Affairs said last night that they “have not been located, despite extensive searches by the animal wardens”.

She added: “The public are reminded that any persons found harbouring these animals could be liable for court action.

“Under Section 22 of the Dogs Act 2008, it is an offence to keep a dog that has caused death or injury to a person or animal.

She added: “Further, under Section 28, it is an offence if a person refuses or fails to give information in connection with an offence committed under the Act.”

The dogs, one male and one female, were described as “brown/tan pitbull-type dogs”.

Anyone with information about them should call animal wardens on 239-2327
