Aecon teams up with Women’s Resource Centre

Women in need will this year benefit from a strengthened partnership between a charity and the developer behind the new airport project.The Women’s Resource Centre and Aecon announced today that they will work together to offer clients training and development opportunities.An Aecon spokeswoman said the company will offer the charity new “virtual learning sessions”, while Aecon’s Women Inclusion Network will donate $5,000 to support women in Bermuda impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.Elaine Butterfield, executive director of the WRC, said: “We are thrilled to be working with such a dynamic organisation as Aecon, who have partnered with us on several levels to provide effective support services to women of all walks of life in Bermuda.“Collaboration is one of our core values and we believe that it is through working together that real transformative change is possible. “Our partnership is a win, win for everyone, particularly the women who will benefit from this dynamic synergy.”Gordana Terklas, senior vice president of human resources at the Aecon Group, added: “The WRC and Aecon’s Women Inclusion Network’s are forward-thinking and like-minded organisations.“Bringing together our collective expertise and resources will only strengthen the impact we have.“The relationship we have established and nourished with the WRC builds upon significant social investment platform established by Aecon — including through Skyport — focuses on giving back to the community.” The Aecon spokeswoman said the company first began to work with the charity last year, offering development workshops and support along with another $5,000 donation.
