Churches were still waiting yesterday for details about how they would be allowed to operate under Phase 3 relaxations of Covid-19 regulations.But the Right Reverend Nicholas Dill, the Anglican Bishop of Bermuda, said that he expected to receive “fleshed out” information before the end of the day.He added that the Anglican Church would continue to work to ensure public safety.He said: “We are taking every precaution to open carefully with the safety of all in mind. Whilst this is being worked out, we will continue to provide one-to-one pastoral care, online Bible studies, as well as services online and through the medium of radio broadcasting, seeking to fulfil the mandate of reaching out to the world with the love of Jesus in new ways, largely outside of our buildings. “We are exploring all options and are awaiting final details from the Bermuda Government — but look forward to the time when we can all gather at a time of open thanksgiving in a manner consistent with our theology and practice.”Phase 3 of the four-stage return to normal life — which begins this morning — would allow the reopening of churches, but with restrictions to curb the potential spread of Covid-19.
