Reward for missing Chavelle raised to $50,000
Police will announce today a $50,000 reward for information leading to a missing young mother, The Royal Gazette understands.
The bounty goes significantly beyond the $3,000 that had been offered by Crime Stoppers for information regarding Chavelle Dillon-Burgess who has been missing since April.
Last month, police changed their investigation into her disappearance to a suspected murder inquiry.
A 39-year-old man is on police bail in connection with the investigation — the subject of a police press conference tomorrow.
Stephen Corbishley, the Commissioner of Police, is expected to announce the $50,000 reward at that briefing.
The group Social Justice Bermuda raised more than $1,000 at a march on Saturday for information leading to the missing mother of a toddler.
Ms Dillon-Burgess was also highlighted in a Black Lives Matter march on June 7, with demonstrators chanting her name.
