The first election advertisement of the General Election campaign was launched yesterday by the Progressive Labour Party.A party official said the advert featured the PLP Government’s response to the Covid-19 campaign, leadership and which party was best able to manage the recovery from the economic damage inflicted by the pandemic.Walter Roban, the party’s deputy leader, said: ““This election is about leadership. During the challenge of a lifetime, Premier David Burt and our PLP team rose to the occasion.“Now, we need capable and steady leadership to see us through the economic recovery.”The video was launched the same day David Burt, the Premier, announced the country would go to the polls in a General Election on October 1.Mr Roban said: “Bermudians have a choice between two leaders — Craig Cannonier and David Burt.“We humbly ask Bermudians to decide which leader they think is best suited to see us through these tough times.”The video can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/voteplp/videos/310203360231620
