Khano back in action

Bermuda forward Khano Smith shrugged off an early-season hamstring strain to take his place on the left wing for the New England Revolution on Saturday — his first competitive game of the season.

Last year’s Major League Soccer’s runners-up secured a 3-0 win at home in Boston over the league’s newest franchise, Toronto FC, with Smith playing his part until being substituted in the 69th minute.

The former Dandy Town striker is in his third season as a Revs player and will be hoping to cement a regular place this year after spending much of 2006 recovering from knee surgery and subsequently being used as an impact player from the bench by boss Steve Nicol.
