Bank backs youngsters with pro soccer clinic

The Bank of Bermuda Pro Soccer Clinic will kick off on July 2 with five different programmes catering to Bermuda's young footballers.

To be held at the National Sports Centre, this year's clinics will, according to organisers, allow aspiring athletes ranging from four to 20-years-old build on their football skills, learn the importance of positive discipline and ensure that they become team players both on and off the field.

This year will see the return of:

* The Kiddy Kickers, a starter clinic that introduces young players ages four and five to the fundamentals through basic fun drills

* The Bank of Bermuda Pro Soccer Clinic and Pro Soccer Clinic for Girls, offering players aged six to ten and ten to 14 the opportunity to learn the tools of the trade from qualified coaches and experienced players.

* The School of Excellence which selects ten participants from the Pro Soccer Clinic and provides them with training, education and work experience

* The College Prospect Programme for players aged 15-20 who wish to showcase their talents to college and pro scouts throughout the United States.

Pro Soccer clinic participants can register for any of the programmes by filling out a registration form, available at Bank of Bermuda branches, and dropping it off at the Bank of Bermuda head office on Front Street, or by mailing the application to the attention of Caroline Black, Marketing, Bank of Bermuda, PO Box HM 1020, Hamilton HM DX.

Alternatively, a pre-registration event will be held in the Bank's head office on Friday, 15 June between 12 and 2 p.m..
