ISL switch schedule

The schedule for the Island Soccer League has been changed to play more matches on the weekends in a bid to attract a greater number of spectators.

ISL commissioner David Bascome announced yesterday that the games due to be played next Monday evening have been moved to Sunday, May 27 (Titans v Royal and Storm v Union) starting at 3 p.m. at the National Sports Centre, as have next Tuesday’s fixtures (Apex v King and Arsenal v Knights) which will now be played on Sunday, June 10.

“We would have loved to open the Island Soccer League on a weekend, but due to the scheduling we could not,” he said.

“After some new dates had become available, we decided to make some scheduling changes, and present an entire weekend of ISL games . . . We felt the changes were needed to help accommodate families by not needing to be out late on school nights.”

General admission to games is $20.
