First Division round-up

Devonshire Rec. 339-6; Warwick 63A Derrick Brangman-inspired Devonshire Rec. annihilated Warwick Workmen’s Club at home yesterday by a crushing 276 runs.

Warwick won the toss and inserted the hosts, a decision that ultimately backfired in the worst possible way as their opponents racked up a commanding total in their 50 overs — Brangman putting the Warwick bowlers to the sword with a score of 112 not out.

And it was Brangman who did the damage with the ball during what turned out to be a limp reply by Warwick, who were bundled out for only 63 as Brangman captured four wickets for six runs in a sensational four-over spell.Somerset Bridge 107; Willow Cuts 109-7Dexter Basden’s Willow Cuts clinched a narrow three-wicket victory over Somerset Bridge at White Hill Field yesterday.

Bridge batted first and were dismissed for a paltry total of 107 as Charles Swan (three for 19) and Kevin Fubler (two for 20) got among the wickets.

Bridge’s top scorers were Jermaine Salaam (41) and Scott Tucker (38).

In reply, Cuts had Ryan Shepherd (30), Dexter Basden (21) and Omar Amory (18 not out) to thank for guiding them home, with Amory bringing about victory with a boundary.

Bridge’s Clarence Trott took two for 11 off his eight overs.
