ISL action fast and furious

Island Soccer League commissioner David Bascome promised plenty of action and excitement from his new six-a-side league.

And with 191 goals scored in the two weeks since its inception at the National Sports Centre, that promise does not look to have been broken.

This week, Knights beat the Union 11-8 with Phil Anderson netting a hat-trick while the Kings beat the winless Titans 12-8. Angelo Simmons netted five times to take his ISL tally to eight.

Elsewhere, Royal beat Apex 9-3 — Adam Shaw claimed a hat-trick on the night — and Nick Jones’ Arsenal continued their miserable start to the ISL campaign with a 12-7 loss to the Storm.

The next round of fixtures is due to get underway on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9.
