Junior tennis series a smash hit
A fun doubles tournament and prize-giving at the WER Joell Stadium marked the successful conclusion of the sixth Pepperidge Farm Junior Tennis Round Robin Series recently.
Some 90 junior players, ranging in age from eight to 15, took part in the series which ran from January to May.
Players were grouped by level of ability and each week played a round robin of singles matches, which offered them challenging contests against others at their level.
Winners and runners-up in each group, listed below, now move up to a higher division for the next series.
Group 6 — Alexander Brown, Jake Fox
Group 7 — Ciara Svensen, Sophie Rathjen
Group 8A — Chris Rego, Darnell Knight
Group 8B — Clementine Keyes, Courtland Boyle (tied winners)
Group 8C — Taylor McHarg, Adam Turner
Group 9A — William Dunkley, Lindsay Fisher
Group 9B — Rickai Burrows, Mathieu Girard
Group 9C — Jackson Greenspan, Daniel Perez
Group 9D — Joey Dougherty, Ethan Rogers
Group 10 — Sophie Moniz, Alice Moniz
